From Passion to Craft

Ember Roast Coffee Co. was founded in 2014 in the heart of Portland's vibrant coffee scene. What started as a small roasting operation in a converted warehouse has grown into a thriving coffee company with three locations across the city.

Our journey began with a simple belief: coffee should be more than just a morning ritual. It should be an experience that connects people to the farmers, the land, and the care that goes into every bean.

Over the past decade, we've built lasting relationships with coffee farmers across Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Indonesia. These partnerships allow us to source the highest quality beans while ensuring fair prices and sustainable practices.

From sourcing to roasting, every step is executed with intention and care.

Sourcing

We travel to origin, visiting farms and building relationships with producers who share our commitment to quality and sustainability. We taste hundreds of samples each year, selecting only the top 5% that meet our standards.

Importing

We work with trusted importers who specialize in sustainable logistics. Green beans are shipped in climate-controlled containers and stored in our temperature-controlled warehouse to preserve freshness.

Roasting

Small-batch roasting on our Probat L12 allows us to bring out the best in each coffee. Every roast is carefully monitored and tested to ensure consistency and optimal flavor development.

Delivery

Coffee is packaged immediately after roasting and shipped within 48 hours. We use one-way valve bags to preserve freshness and ensure you receive coffee at its peak.
